“Panchayat Union Elementary School, Saravanampatti, adopted by CRI has received the prestigious “Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar – 2018” in the Coimbatore District.
Receives this Award, beating 3150 contenders for displaying excellence in upkeep of drinking water facility, sanitation and hygiene practice
26th December 2018: “Panchayat Union Elementary School, Saravanampatti, which is one of CRI’s adopted schools has been awarded the prestigious “Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar – 2018” out of the 3150 private and Govt schools in Coimbatore district for the excellence in upkeep of drinking water facility, sanitation and hygiene practice in school.
“Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar – 2018” was presented to Smt.S.Kalamani, Headmistress, Panchayat Union Elementary School, Saravanampatti by Mr.P.Ayyannan, Chief Education Officer, Coimbatore in the presence of Smt.R.Geetha, District Education Officer and Mr.S.Raja, Head – CSR, C.R.I Pumps on 22nd November 2018.
The CRI spokesperson said “The Headmistress, teachers and students have done a commendable job in the upkeep of the facilities created by us and also fulfilling the mandate for the Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign”
C.R.I pumps, apart from standing tall as a global leader in fluid management also plays its vital role in managing sustainability with a host of socially responsible programmes. The programme includes Education, Promotion of sports, Rainwater harvesting, Best Farmer Award programme, construction of individual toilets to needy one under Swachh Bharath Mission, ward adoption programme and Health care facility for needy and poor.
In an effort to turn the Government Schools into model schools for enlightened education, C.R.I has adopted 9 Govt Schools under the School improvement program with an MoU with Govt of Tamilnadu. Under this adoption scheme every year Government school students are getting benefitted in terms of education, good infrastructure, improved health & hygiene facilities and sports facilities.
The “Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar” was instituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2016 to recognize, inspire and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in schools. The explicit purpose of the awards is to honour schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign.
This Award is the outcome of C.R.I’s focused and sustainable CSR interventions carried out in this school along with various stakeholders in the community for the past 9 years.
